Staging Creation presents facets of something that we have in common, no matter if we are professional handbalancers or not: a voluntary representation of the self towards the outer world.

Handbalancer and Breakdancer Yann Deffays shares his thoughts on what this actually means for (handstand-) artists, pointing out paradoxes such as an increasing standardisation of content while everyone is looking for individuality.

As a handbalancer with a lot of experience in independent creation, Imogen Huzel writes about the life cycle of a show, referring to the fact that processes of creation are always a just a caption of a moment in the life of an artist, and why it makes sense to put a show to bed in order to liberate yourself for new personal and professional development and creative adventures.
