It’s still us, but in a fancy new format! As you hold Issue 07 in your hands, you will notice a definite change in our appearance – and we are excited to finally share the next chapter for Handstand Press Magazine with you.

Over the course of the last year, we have reflected on the overall accessibility and reach of our publication. Based on this, this is the first issue which we present in a new format, aiming to increase the accessibility in terms of the reading experience as well as the overall economical access for our readership.

We are now smaller (in Format, from A4 to slightly bigger than A5), shorter (in pages – 72 pages plus cover instead of 112) and lighter (in terms of paper weight, size and number of pages). This allows us to lower the unit price and secure affordable national and international shipping, while giving us the opportunity to make some artistically exciting changes in regards to our overall style.

We are also delighted to share that we have received funding by the Arts Council of Ireland for 2024, securing the ongoing publication of Handstand Press Magazine.

As you know – we love paper! Which is why we have insisted on being print only since our first magazine in 2020. However, we’ve heard you loud and clear; many of you enjoy a lighter lifestyle with less physical things, others love to read on their tablet on the go, and others found that shipping our hefty issues around the globe wasn’t sustainable, both environmentally and economically. For you all, we are delighted to announce that we now offer every issue, including our back catalogue, as a digital PDF download on our website, and going forward also as a subscription option. We now publish something every three months – two regular issues and two surprise publications in between! That means you’ll receive four publications throughout the year vs just two. You now also have the option to subscribe for the digital version of these publications.
